Bio
Cop. Private Investigator. Author.
Brent LaJeunesse
Brent LaJeunesse spent about 35 years as a cop and private investigator.
He started on the street with the Edmonton Police Service in 1991 and worked it for ten years. In 1998 he took a call that sounded like nothing. A man with a shotgun stood in a schoolyard, with children between them. He has spent the years since working out what that day taught him.
He moved into private investigations and later built a firm in Phoenix from a one man shop. The 2008 financial crisis took his first business and his home. He started over from zero, grew the firm, and sold it.
The long hours cost him his health. At 57 he was fifty pounds overweight and no longer trying. He hired two coaches, one for leadership and one for his body, and built both back. That became Forged After 50.
These days he writes. Badge to Boardroom takes the lessons of the street into the boardroom. Forged After 50 is a field manual for men over fifty. Every Wednesday he publishes The Long Watch, an essay for men who lost something and set out to rebuild. A new thriller series is on the way.
He has two grown sons. Brent lives with his wife and their dog on acreage in Cave Creek, Arizona. Most weekends they are out on their boat on Lake Pleasant or riding their Harleys. They each have one.
